The Berenstain Bears Blessed are the Peacemakers
Too-Tall and his gang have always been troublemakers. Ferdy Factual and his friends are good cubs and good students. The two groups really don’t get along, but Brother and Sister Bear try to get along with everyone. When their school puts on an all-school play, Romeo and Grizzliet, all the cubs try out for parts. Much to everyone’s surprise, the lead roles go to Queenie McBear (Too-Tall’s girlfriend) and Ferdy Factual. How are they going to pretend to be in love when they’re usually mean to each other? Too-Tall tries to start a fight with Ferdy after school, but Brother and Sister Bear act as the peacemakers and break up the fight, reminding everyone what the Bible says about sowing in peace. When it comes time for the play, Queenie and Ferdy’s acting is good enough that Too-Tall gets jealous and starts a fight. When the parents see their cubs fighting, they join in the fight also! Squire Grizzly, Mayor Honeypot and Preacher Brown speak up and remind everyone that there is never a good reason to start a fight.
I really liked this book. I love almost all the Berenstain Bears books, and this is one of my favorites. I would recommend it for kids ages 4-8.
