This is the true story of an artist, who was also an astronaut, named Alan Bean. In 1969, Alan Bean became the fourth person to walk on the Moon. When he came home from Space, his friends wanted to know what it was like on the Moon. He described an amazing place, but the pictures he took did not show the beauty he saw there. So Alan decided to paint what it was like to be on the surface of the Moon and how it felt to be in outer space. He painted pictures of astronauts and the flag being planted on the Moon. He used all kinds of bright colors to make it feel like walking into a new world. Alan used his astronaut boots to walk on his canvases and give it texture. This entire story is a beautiful one and worth the time to read the book! I recommend this book for anyone who likes space or wants to be an astronaut when they grow up. I also recommend this book for people of all ages who like painting or art.
