The Animal Book
This book is one of the best of the animal books that I have read. The authors wrote the information in a way that is easy for me to understand. They add lots of interesting facts–like, for example, that a polar bear’s fur is not white, it is actually clear! The animals’ entries are written in order of the country they live in. There are fact boxes on every page that tell us the animal’s scientific name, size, diet, status, and an amazing fact.
The Animal Book by Ruth Martin, Dawn Cooper, and Sally Bond has many photos and illustrations. I really liked the illustrations; they are in full color and are very detailed and are very interesting. There are also stories surrounding the animal that the page is talking about. I think the author could work on giving a little more information on how the animal was discovered. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. This book would be good for people ages 10-14.
