The Almost Terrible Playdate

A girl and a boy wanted to play together, but didn’t know what to play. So they kept having suggestions of what they would like to play, but then the other one would ruin their idea. Like the girl said she would like to play that she was the queen of the universe and the boy visited her castle, but the boy said he wanted to be giant dinosaur and stomp around. Finally, they both got mad and said they didn’t want to play with each other at all, but then that wasn’t fun, so they found a way to both be what they wanted to be and still have fun together.

This book has pictures that are just like crayon drawings . . . and they are really fun. The pictures show what the boy and the girl are thinking. The girl’s pictures are in purple and the boy’s pictures are in green. It is funny to see what they are thinking, and they have different pictures in their minds that seem fun to one of them but not to the other one. It is really good that they found a way to work together and have fun playing together after all.
