The Adventures of John Blake: Mystery of the Ghost Ship
The Adventures of John Blake: The Mystery of the Ghost Ship follows Australian girl Serena Henderson, who, after being thrown into the South Pacific, was rescued by John Blake, a member of the crew of the Mary Alice. The Mary Alice is a time-traveling ship that is the result of an experiment of John’s father gone terribly wrong. The Mary Alice is manned by a silk trader, a Roman engineer, a 1790’s London orphan, and other people gathered from all throughout time who work together to keep the ghost ship safe and sailing. As the mismatched crew tries to return Serena to her family in her own time, they find out that a former International Maritime Organization employee is tracking the ghost ship’s appearances and searching for them. Meanwhile, another also seeks the the ghost ship, to destroy it and all evidence of a past crime. The detailed pictures, complex characters, and edge-of-your-seat scenes all make sure that you’ll enjoy The Adventures of John Blake: The Mystery of the Ghost Ship. Fred Fordham’s pictures are breathtaking windows into both the future and the past, pulling together Philip Pullman’s twisting story of persistence, daring, and mystery.
