Thankful

This time of year we think about what we are thankful for. In the book, Thankful, we are reminded of all the things different people are thankful for. A brother and sister are playing pretend and are different people who are thankful. The fireman is thankful for putting out a fire, a tailor is thankful for her sewing machine, and a doctor is thankful for making her patients better. In the end, the brother and sister are thankful for each other.

I really liked Thankful because it reminds me of the many things that I am thankful for. The book is written in rhyme and the words flow so nicely and are easy for me to read. The illustrations show much more detail than just the words. The brother and sister are dressed up as the different people, like playing doctor, or the queen, or the sailor with a little boat in the pond. I kept going back to look at the pictures over and over again.

I think Thankful is a great book for families to read around the holidays and remember all the small things we should be thankful for.
