Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina
I loved this book. It was an adventure of a young girl and her dream to become a star dancer. From war orphan at a very young age to a professional ballerina, Michaela’s story is very inspiring!
Michaela was born with a skin disease called vitiligo, making her a spotted child. Her mother and father were very kind and generous, but when she was very young they died. When she moved in with her uncle, she was disliked and ignored. Michaela was sent to an orphanage where she was treated badly again. Michaela faced many scary and tough challenges, but when she was told American families would be adopting her and the other girls and boys, her life started to change. She and her best friend were adopted by a very generous couple who had adopted other orphans before. She and her sister, Mia, now had the opportunity to do what they wanted to. With many years of practice, Michaela became a professional ballerina and an inspiration to many people including me and I would love to meet her in person.
I think this book deserves five stars. Anyone would enjoy reading this because it is a good story and Michaela inspires people to overcome their obstacles to follow their dreams.
