Sweet Senior Pups
There are a lot of dogs around. Younger dogs are easier to adopt out than older dogs but there are a lot of older dogs who have been given up to shelters or abandoned and brought to shelters. Puppies might be cuter but older dogs are usually better trained and are not as jumpy. This book is told from the point of view of the older dogs who are in shelters and tries to get us to understand them better.
Sweet Senior Pups by Kama Einhorn is essentially a picture book about dogs who have gone to a dog home for senior (old) dogs. The book is full of pictures of dogs who need good homes and who are very adorable! I really liked this book because I really like dogs. Most of the dogs are very old. The book provides information to what life at this “home” looks like. I think the author could have written it in a better sequence, but other than that, it is a terrific book. This book would be good for dog-lovers ages nine to thirteen.
