Suspect Red
I think that Suspect Red was a good book. It is set in the U.S. in the 1950s, when the United States wasn’t exactly trusting toward other countries. The protagonist is kid named Richard. A family from Czechoslovakia became Richard’s neighbors, but remember the country doesn’t really trust other countries. Despite that, Richard makes friends with Vlad, one of his new neighbors who happens to be around his age. Richard is then conflicted between keeping his friendship and being loyal to America. This is a very unique book because it has both historical fiction and nonfiction. There are a lot of real historical pictures mixed in with it along with the actual story, which I found interesting. They even included someone’s real execution! It was slightly educational. I also like the story line the author has. Not many books have this kind of realistic story line, and it’s pretty amazing. Overall, Suspect Red was a unique book.
