Summer on the Short Bus

This book is one of the few books to make me laugh out loud. I could count on one hand how many books have made me do that, and none of them have even come close to this one. Don’t be fooled by the cover; this book is for guys just as much for girls.

The main character, Cricket, is a very spoiled teen that has been in enough trouble that her father forces her to spend her summer as a counselor at a camp for special needs kids. There she meets some interesting characters who all love the kids who attend the camp, and she has no clue to survive. Add in some funny campers and a counselor who looks like a celebrity he has no clue who it is, and you get a lot of laughs.

Throughout the book Cricket learns some very important lessons about life, humility and how to treat people who might be slightly different from you. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends, and I hope to see more from this author soon!
