This is a big book with beautiful pictures. There aren’t any words or stories in this book, but there are pictures that tell a story of something that happens in nature, and you can think about what stories the pictures are telling. Some of them are easy, like the story of the caterpillar turning into a butterfly or frog eggs becoming a tadpole and then a frog. But other stories are ones that you maybe don’t think about very much. One shows a squirrel burying a nut and then a tree sprouting out of the ground, and another shows a snail in the rain, then the sun coming out, and then the snail in the rainbow. One picture shows a tarantula throwing spines or something at an animal that wants to eat it. I didn’t know tarantulas could do that! Even though there aren’t any words, there are lots of things you can learn and think about while you enjoy looking at the beautiful pictures. I think it is to help you think about how if you watch nature, you will see a lot of things you didn’t know about before.
