Storm: Dawn of a Goddess follows the story of Ororo, a young woman born with striking white hair and icy blue eyes that contrasts sharply with her parents and friends traditional dark features (black hair and brown eyes). After tragically losing her parents, Ororo is forced to become a thief on the streets of Cairo. During a violent sandstorm, she experiences a vision of an elderly woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to herself. The woman keeps on repeating come home.

From that moment on, Ororo begins seeing and hearing this mysterious woman everywhere, coinciding with the awakening of a powerful, long-dormant power within her. When Ororo accidentally electrocutes and kills a tourist she tries to steal from, she is found by her childhood stalker and tormentor, the Shadow King, the only other one in the world who knows how special Ororo is. Ororo has to make a choice, leave behind the only family she’s ever known to find out her true destiny, or stay and possibly doom everyone she’s ever loved and herself.

I really love Marvel and I especially love the fact that the main protagonist and the second main protagonist are both African Americans. Although I love this book, it was a little slow to captivate my interest in the beginning so it wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. I recommend this book to kids ages nine to fifteen and Marvel fans. This book is totally awesome and I hope that others will love it just as much as I do.
