Stories of the Night

This is a really fun book about, of course, Stories of the Night–the stories that Mother Bear tells Little Bear before he goes to bed. There are three stories. One story is about a girl who got lost in the woods and then went to sleep with a bat. That story is my favorite because the pictures are so fun to look at. Another story is about a man who couldn’t sleep and then he asked his friend the beaver what he could do because he couldn’t sleep. The third story is that there is a nighttime guardian who goes and tells people that they have to go to sleep soon, and then no one was going to tell her because there was no night guardian for her. So she had to tell herself.

The pictures are cute and from an illustrator who makes cute pictures–it’s the same person as the author. My favorite picture shows Little Bear cuddling into his bed, asleep. These would be good stories for your mother to read to you before bed to help you go to sleep too. It’s a really fun book, and I think everyone should read it!
