A bear is out looking for food, and he doesn’t care if the food belongs to others… he steals fish from the fisherman, honey from the bees, snacks from campers… Then he realizes the moon is following him. He feels observed and criticized, and asks the moon to stop following him. But the moon is always there and the bear feels very nervous. He’s even worried that the moon wants to steal his food. He keeps saying it’s “his” food now and to please stop following him. He wonders if someone has asked to moon to follow him. Then the moon goes… disappears behind the clouds. At first the bear is happy, as the moon seems gone. Then all becomes dark and it’s so hard to see anything. When the moon is back, the bear finds himself very happy. And chooses to share his foods with all the people and animals that were in his adventure. A huge moonlit party.

This book was really funny. The bear was really silly thinking the moon was following him. The faces of people and animals whose things were stolen from them made me laugh hard. And the party at the end was nice to watch… with everyone sharing the bear’s food.
