Cecil is a toad. He lives in a pond. He gets captured by an army of small humans, and he gets put in a school bus in a box with air holes. He gets taken to a school where he gets put in a terrarium and meets a chameleon. He doesn’t like the chameleon, because he never stops checking in on him. Jeff (a rodent) flies a helicopter, so Cecil’s friends can go rescue him. Will Cecil get out of the terrarium? Will he get rescued by his friends? Will we ever see the garter snake in the terrarium? Read the book to find out. (There is a cliffhanger.)

This book is a graphic novel. I was expecting it to be more interesting and exciting. The cover looks like a monster is chasing them. My favorite picture is when the chameleon shifts his eyes. I read this book myself. Five-year-olds and up would like this book. I learned garter snakes are nearsighted. There are some facts about animals at the end, like chameleons have to get in the sun to warm up their bodies. I give the book four stars, because I like animals, and that’s pretty much all there is in this book. I liked it.
