Space Explorers: 25 Extraordinary Stories of Space Exploration and Adventure
I think space is neat and kind of scary at the same time. I don’t know if I’d ever want to go, but I like to hear about it. I was excited to get Space Explorers because I thought I might learn about black holes, stars, or things like that. The stories in the book weren’t quite what I thought they might be like; instead, they are stories about real people who have been in space and what happens to them before and during their trip. Going into space is different from being here on earth, and the astronauts have to live differently in the spaceship than in their homes.
I liked hearing my mom read the stories to me, but some of them didn’t keep my attention for very long. I think that maybe an older kid would like them a little more than I did. I learned some neat things like they grow plants in space to eat while they are up there, they have to exercise every day, and that things can go wrong, but usually, people fix the problem. I like the pictures in the book, which make it more colorful!
