Sonia and the Super-Duper Disaster

Sonia had just realized it was her mom’s birthday and had forgotten! Her brother Sam didn’t forget; can she redeem herself by making her mom’s special day the best? She decides to make her mom breakfast in bed, but, of course, everything seems to go wrong, and to top it off, her cats want to be more helpful than she is okay with. Can Sonia pull off the best breakfast for the best mom while struggling with getting overwhelmed and frustrated along the way? She’ll need to use some helpful things to do or say to help calm down and get the job done!

Sonia and the Super-Duper Disaster taught me about coping skills to try whenever I might feel overwhelmed, or any big emotion. They worked for her, so I can try them and feel good about them working for me, too. I haven’t felt as strongly as she has yet, but now I have something to use for if/when it happens. Even though the cats were a lot of trouble, I enjoyed seeing them in the story. Readers of all ages will enjoy the story and learn something from it.
