Someone To Talk To: Getting Good at Feeling Better
Someone To Talk To: Getting Good at Feeling Better is a helpful book to read before going to therapy and after. I think this book would be helpful for anyone doing or soon to be doing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This book uses a CBT approach throughout. This book would probably be some help to other types of therapy practices, but it seems Someone To Talk To is targeted to kids age seven to eleven doing CBT. This very interactive book is helpful and fun. This is a unique book because of the cover. You might think, “What about the cover?” The cover is what determines whether a kid is going to pick it up. Now you are thinking, “Then I will just make my kid read it.” In reality, though, your kids are not going to take advice from a book that they had to read. Luckily you don’t have to do any of that with your kid because Claire Keay made not just the cover appealing, but throughout the book there are colorful, detailed pictures. If you think that someone is suffering from anxiety, depression, or even just going through a hard time, I would recommend this book. Parents as well as teachers and therapists should buy this book. A therapist is not needed to use this book. I think this book would be helpful to a kid doing or getting ready to do therapy.
