Skylanders: The Kaos Trap

This book is based on the popular video game, Skylanders. Skylanders The Kaos Trap reads like a comic book and it is broken up into four sections. I had a hard time figuring out if they are chapters or separate stories. Sometimes it seemed to be all part of the same story but then at other times the sections seemed like separate stories. There are a couple of characters that are in each section. This book also does a good job of introducing different Skylanders in the different chapters.

Even though I had a sometimes had a hard time following the story across the chapters, I really enjoyed this book. I liked reading about the different characters and their abilities. My favorite part was in the third chapter. There was a huge food fight! I also liked that at the end of the book were a couple of pages that gave more information about four of the Skylanders from the book. I think the comic book layout and video game theme will appeal to kids that don’t enjoy reading as much.
