Simonie and the Dance Contest

This book was a really great story that taught me how to overcome my fears. Simonie was scared to dance and his friends helped him. Simonie’s mom and dad helped him too by encouraging him to keep practicing. I liked the pictures, there were a lot of details, but I wish the colors were brighter. When I got stuck on words that I couldn’t read the pictures helped me understand what was going on. I loved how the author described things in the book, I really felt like I was in the story because of the adjectives that were used. One of my favorite things to do is dancing so I loved this book because it involved dancing. It was hard for me to read some of the words alone because the spelling was different than I was used to.
