Side-by-Side Basketball Stars: Comparing Pro Basketball’s Greatest Players
Side by Side Basketball Stars is a nonfiction book that gives details about past and present famous basketball players. There are two pages of information for each player. I think some of the nicknames make sense like ‘The Beard’ because James Hardin has a curly beard. I really like that the book gives a small summary including each player’s nickname, height, weight, years active, team, championship, all-star games, etc. all on one page. The second page describes the player in detail. I also like some of the action poses in the pictures. I did not like the pose of Blake Griffin because he had a sad face on that picture. At the end of the book, two players at a time were compared to each other for example Larry Bird vs Magic Johnson. It’s a great book to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each of these great players. If you want to learn more about a player in this book that you do not know about, you can do research on the computer. That is why I think this book is good for big kids from probably 8 years and up.
