She Persisted: Sally Ride by Atia Abawi is about Sally Ride, an astronaut. I rate this book four stars. The book is about Sally Ride, who excelled at both school and sports. Later, she fell in love with science, particularly physics. But due to the era, she was discouraged from pursuing it academically. Despite this, she got her undergraduate degree, her graduate dgeree, and a doctorate in physics. After graduating, she applied for a NASA program. She was accepted and went on to become the third woman in space and a patron of learning.

The author provided a list of references used for the book. The references included reputable information from interviews, books, and even websites. Furthermore, I would recommend this book because it takes the span of her life and makes it more digestible to the average reader without losing the importance. In particular, I would recommend this book to ages nine to thirteen. This book would be enjoyed by children who find history and science fascinating. In conclusion, this was an interesting book on Sally Ride’s life.
