Serafina and the Black Cloak
There’s a girl named Serafina, and she lives in the basement of an inn. She catches mice, but no one knows about her except for her father, who also lives in the basement. One night, she sees a man in a black cloak. She decides to follow him to the very deepest part of the house, even deeper than the basement. There she sees a girl in a yellow dress, and overhears the man telling her he’s not going to kill her or hurt her. Then she sees him grasp the girl really tight, and then she disappears. Ever since then, Serafina has been wondering where the man in the black cloak sent the girl in the yellow dress. Serafina thinks the girl couldn’t be in the hotel, so now she decides to try to find her.
This book is kind of scary and creepy and spooky, so I haven’t finished it yet. I think I will like it more when I am older. I think it is better for older children, like in middle school. It is easy to read, but I don’t like reading about children disappearing because that is really scary.
