The Doors to Nowhere is a graphic novel about a girl called Willow and her friends. There is an evil man who wants to resurrect another evil man. He thinks the key is a special book of spells. The only way to get to it is a special key. He uses special symbols called the Doors to Nowhere to get to it. Will he get it before Willow can stop him?

I like the illustrations Chris Grine gives. The illustrations really help me imagine all the characters. And the book is packed with all the possible action and adventure you could want. Another thing that is really nice is that in the beginning, the book is not set with Willow. The viewpoint changes, which is nice because we can get a bit of Willow’s Uncle Elric’s backstory.

But The Doors to Nowhere is not perfect. The changing viewpoints are quite confusing. I can never tell whose viewpoint is being focused on. Is it Willow’s, her Uncle Elric’s, or someone completely different?

I recommend The Doors to Nowhere for ages seven to twelve. This book is perfect for children who want action, adventure, and a not very sophisticated plot.
