Secret of the Mountain Dog
I really enjoyed reading this book. Secret of the Mountain Dog was very interesting. Jax (Jackson) finds a stray Tibetan mastiff dog that she calls Mo-Mo. She knows he’s special. One day she and Mo-Mo meet Yeshi, a monk, and his teacher, Jampa Rinpoche, who are building a monastery on the mountain. Jax quickly makes friends with Yeshi and hangs out with him a lot. One day, they decide to look through the crates in the basement of the monastery. The items inside of the crates were going to be gifts for Rinpoche’s teacher, but what they really want to find is the statue of the demon, Tsiu Marpo. A red-haired man, known as the Ocean Walker, has been snooping around, and Jax knows he’s looking for the statue, too. Jax tries to find out all that she can about the statue, and can she learns the prophecy that she can use to summon the demon to scare the red-haired man away? I would give this book 4 stars: it was interesting. This book is a little creepy in the way it describes things and you don’t know what’s going to happen next. To find the secret, read Secret of the Mountain Dog.
