Sanity & Tallulah
Sanity & Tallulah is about two girls who make a three-headed cat in a lab that just might be destroying their space station! I loved the description of the three-headed cat and especially liked how the girls adored the cat when everyone else was scared of the cat’s tremendous growth! I also really liked that Tallulah’s mom is the head scientist for the space station. It was nice to have a strong female character.
This story is very creative, and I really got to know the two girls throughout the book. I feel like it moved a bit slowly and wanted more action, but I could easily see it being made into a series where the girls have other adventures. The pictures in this graphic novel are not very realistic, but they fit the story really well. It’s a pretty traditional comic layout using lots of sound words in BIG letters. Sanity & Tallulah is set in a high-tech environment with robotic legs, space stations, and advanced computer screens. I think it will appeal especially to girls and is more appropriate for older girls (10+) due to some language (hell and damn).
