Ruby Makes It Even!: Odd/Even Numbers (Math Matters)

This book was about a girl named Ruby who learns about math. She talks about odd and even numbers when she is figuring out how to fix a problem. She is trying to help her friends solve problems and to learn about numbers. Her friends in this story are Millie and Beth. These are her best friends. With a bunch of other kids, they go on a trip to the Rainforest Fun Park. What I liked best about this book is that Ruby talks about math and how to use math so that Ruby and her two friends can enjoy the rides together. They have to learn about odd and even numbers so that no one has to ride alone. I would describe the illustrations in this story as being bright and colorful. They are color drawings, not photographs. A quote from this book that I really liked is, “We ride Jungle Jalopies, Swinging Vine, and Parrot Plunge.” I think those rides sound like fun! I enjoyed everything about this book. It is fun to learn math through a story like this one.
