I read this as an eBook on my daddy’s iPad. The name of the book is Roxy Rogers: Your Destiny Is Calling by Emily Siskin-Toy. The author’s first name reminded me of my cousin’s first name! The illustrations are by Brian C. Krümm and I think the pictures in this book are bright and beautiful. I especially like the drawings of Roxy Rogers when she sang and sang and sang in her room. I always sing bedtime songs at night in my room. The story is about a girl named Roxy Rogers who first likes softball but also likes music. “She didn’t daydream of hitting softballs to the moon.” Her family really loves baseball but they also like her singing. This book gave me a surprising feeling. I also liked this quote: “She shimmied and grooved and amazed just like her soul sister, Aretha.” It is fun to read an eBook. At the end of the book, there is information about historical figures from the story, like Joe DiMaggio, Jackie Robinson, Aretha Franklin, and the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. I recommend this book to other kids.
