Redemptor (Raybearer Book 2)

Redemptor is a great story about determination and courage. It is the sequel to the novel Raybearer. In this story, Tarisai must form a council of all the leaders of all the kingdoms. She must then enter the underworld to fulfil a treaty. While she prepares and forms her council, she is constantly visited by evil spirits. At the same time, a rebel named Crocodile is stirring ups trouble throughout the empire. Tarisai becomes distant from her friends, who don’t approve of all of her choices. Despite the difficulties of being empress, Tarisai is determined to do everything she can for her empire. She is also determined to survive her journey to the underworld. Overall, this was a very good story. It had a lot of cool world building, and a few interesting plot twists. I liked that Tarisai cares for the average citizen, and that she is always trying to make her empire better. I would recommend this book to kids in high school, especially if they enjoy fantasy novels.
