Red Light, Green Lion
Red Light, Green Lion is a clever, hilarious, picture book. It is about a lion who is trying to cross the street, but this is not just any lion. It is a green lion. Every other page has a new wacky green thing! The sentence always starts “Red light, green li—.” Then you get to flip the page and see green lilacs, lifeboats, and library books. Green Lion might need these things to make new friends and have a good time! But will Green Lion ever cross the street? Yes! The light finally turns green, and he meets his friend Red Lion!
This book’s illustrations are cute, and I think they are very fitting to the book. Believe it or not, they use a lot more colors than green and red. They have yellow, orange, blue, and more! I think this book would be best for preschoolers and elementary schoolers, but it is fun material for all ages. This could be great for a library story time. I would love to read more books by this author and illustrator, and I would definitely want to see more of them doing stuff together!
