Ranger in Time #1: Rescue on the Oregon Trail

Ranger, a dog, has just found a first aid kit box in the backyard, and he slips it around his neck and is gone! Suddenly, he finds himself on a dusty road in a place he doesn’t know. Then he discovers he is with a family about to set out on the Oregon Trail. They encounter lots of difficulties on the journey, like fast-flowing rivers and sicknesses that are hard to cure. They have to survive in the wilderness as they travel by covered wagon until they get to their new Oregon home.

This book was very detailed and exciting. It was short, but had a lot to say about this time period and what the pioneers went through as they were on the Oregon Trail. Ranger is a funny dog, and he was very sensible, even though he didn’t understand everything completely. And wouldn’t you be a bit confused if you were suddenly transported back in history? This is an easy-to-read book, written for younger readers but interesting to everyone. If you want to learn about an exciting time in history with the pioneers, you should read this book!
