Learn about 20 Hispanic American Heroes in this great collection of biographies written for kids. This book includes Adelina Otero-Warren, Bernardo de Galvez, Cesar Chavez, David Farragut, Dennis Chavez, Desi Arnaz, Dolores Huerta, Ellen Ochoa, Helen Rodríguez Trías, Hero Street USA, Ignacio Lozano, Jaime Escalante, Joan Baez, Judy Baca, Julia de Burgos, Luis Alvarez, Rita Moreno, Roberte Clemente, Sonia Sotomayor, and Tomas Rivera. Ochoa was the first Latina astronaut, Sotomayor was the first Latina judge, and Cesar Chavez was a great civil rights leader. I thought the story about Hero Street USA was so interesting that I asked my mother to google more information about it.

I thought this was a really well-written book. I was interested in reading it because I was doing a report on Sonia Sotomayor. This book provided great information that I used in my report, as well as a timeline, quotes, and the perfect picture. I was also impressed with the illustrations. I just drew a self-portrait for school, so I know how hard it is to draw faces that really look like a real person!
