Porridge the cat fell into a can of tartan paint as a kitten, so now he is a tartan cat!
Groovy Gran’s band “The Tattie Scones” has broken up, but she wants to get the band back together to raise money to fix the school roof. When the Dog of Doom tears up their promotional posters, everyone thinks Porridge did it! Then, when Groovy Gran tries to get on television, the Dog of Doom puts a giant bone in the satellite dish so they can’t transmit the message. When Porridge goes to investigate, the Dog of Doom knocks the satellite dish down, with poor Porridge still in it! And, once again, everyone thinks Porridge broke it!
Will Groovy Gran be able to find her band mates, or will the Dog of Doom keep ruining her plans? I liked that this story was very funny and suspenseful. My favorite part was when Porridge was chased by the Dog of Doom and he tried to run through a cat door but ran into a wall instead! I love how the pictures help tell the story and make it even funnier!

Tracy Stephens –
What a fabulous, funny read. Kept my daughter and myself laughing from the first page to the last. How refreshing to read a children’s book that has a few in jokes for the mums and dad’s too, can’t wait to read the rest of the series, and I know Molly can’t too!
