Pirate Chicken: All Hens on Deck
I’ve never heard of a chicken that was a pirate, but in this book, Lily is a chicken who becomes just that! The story begins with a lot of very ordinary chickens on an ordinary farm. Lily wants more than an ordinary chicken’s life. One day, pirates raid the barn, and Lily gets her wish when the pirates take the hens hostage. The other hens are scared, but Lily is excited!
Lily patiently and quietly watches and learns how to be a pirate. When the pirates all leave the ship and go to an island, they forget to anchor the ship. As the pirates party, the hens float away. Lily takes over as captain and teaches her fellow hens how to be a pirate!
Although they go to exciting places like Hawaii, it isn’t enough. Lily wants more! Lily the hen becomes famous as “Redfoot,” eats the most food, and has the best nest. The other hens mutiny and tell Lily to walk the plank. What will become of Lily? Will she survive the mutiny? This book is hilarious, and everyone should read it! The pictures are very funny and add to the humor of the story.
