Peter in Blueberry Land

Peter in Blueberry Land is a story by Elsa Beskow, who has written many other books for kids, but Peter in Blueberry Land is the first one that became popular for her. The story is about a little boy named Peter who is outside in the woods, searching for berries for his mom to give to her for her birthday, but he can’t find any anywhere! Peter is visited by some friends who help him find the berries he needs in a very different way than normal. Peter is able to give his mom the two different kinds of berries and surprise her.

I like Peter in Blueberry Land because the story is easy to understand and kept me turning pages to find out what would happen next. There isn’t a whole lot of action that happens, but what happens is good, and Peter makes lots of friends. The pictures are older-looking, but the colors in them are bright. I haven’t read a story like this, but I’ll be reading it again.
