Peter & Ernesto: A Tale of Two Sloths
The two sloths in Peter & Ernesto: A Tale of Two Sloths are Peter, grey with a pointy head, and Ernesto, who is brown and adventurous. Ernesto wants to see all the pieces of the sky, but Peter thinks that is dangerous and wants to stay in the tree. One day Ernesto goes to see all of the sky. First he crosses a shaky bridge, then he crosses a river and heads up to a big rock. He reaches the ocean and swims. While he is swimming on his back, a whale lifts him up and takes him across the sea to the desert. Then Ernesto goes to a forest where he meets a fox and a racoon who tell him about the Northern Lights, so he finds them. Ernesto gets cold and decides to go home, but he is stopped by a polar bear. Ernesto calls the whale, who breaks the ice to save him.
Meanwhile, Peter gets worried about Ernesto and goes after him. Peter comes to the shaky bridge and is scared. After he crosses the bridge he comes to the river. He accidentally steps on a tapir’s head and has to swim. Peter helps a troop of monkeys find their friend Dave, so they help Peter by yelling for Ernesto really loud. Then Peter and Ernesto go back to their tree. This is a good book about friendship to read aloud or to yourself. It’s a short comic book. I like how the author draws the sloths. I can’t wait to read the sequel!
