Pencils, Pens & Brushes: A Great Girls’ Guide to Disney Animation is a book with many different stories about women who worked with and for Walt Disney to make some of the happiest tales ever told. These great women wrote stories, drew characters, and brought these characters to life with animation. All of the women in this book had a special role in making Disney the great thing it is today.

Pencils, Pens & Brushes is not my favorite book, but I believe it would be a good gift to children, especially girls, ages 9 and older who are interested in writing, drawing, and animation. The stories of each woman may inspire the next great Disney artist. So if you know someone who has the ability to be great in this field, this book may be a good gift for them.
