PathFinder: TodHunter Moon, Book One (World of Septimus Heap)
Alice TodHunter Moon has just found out she is a Pathfinder. She has to learn about her history and keep it secret, but the next day, her father mysteriously disappears. Alice takes off to find him, leaving all her friends behind. She soon figures out that she is being chased by mythical creatures called Garmin, which have huge snake heads. She also discovers that an evil sorcerer is capturing people and using them to dig out a special egg made of lapis lazuli, which makes wizards very powerful. Now she needs to recover the egg before it is stolen and before the people of her village are killed.
I really liked this book because it had magic and was so intriguing. I never wanted to put it down. I felt like I was in the story and like I was watching everything that was happening, that you could see everything so clearly. I felt like I would really like to get to know these characters in real life, especially Alice, because she has lots of different magic in her and she has a fun personality. I am excited to read the next books in the series!
