Our New Kittens is about two brothers who get two kittens, who are also brothers. They wonder what they are going to call them. They bring the kittens home and show them around. The kittens explore, see where their litter box is and where their food and water is. The brothers learn not to chase the kittens or jump around yelling because it will scare the kittens. The brothers like to cuddle and play with their new kittens.

I was excited to review Our New Kittens because my family fosters cats, and I like to help take care of them. This book reminds me of when we fostered new kittens, and they can be scared at first, but you need to make them feel comfortable. It is a great book to read for kids who are getting a new kitten because it shows all the things you need to get and do to take care of a new kitten. Having a pet is a lot of responsibility, and you need to be prepared. The front inside cover has a list of things to have at home before you bring home your new kitten and the back inside cover shows a list of things you need to do every day to take care of your cat.

I love that the illustrations are colorful. I especially love the expressions on the kittens’ faces, like when they are scared, happy, or playful. I recommend Our New Kittens to kids who have cats or are thinking of getting any kind of pet.
