On the Ball
This book is about a little boy named Owen. This story shows how the boy loves playing ball. One day, the ball accidentally splashes into the water. Then, the ball rolls, and bounces away. Owen uses his imagination! He pretends to be a tiger and tracks the ball. He also pretends he is a bird, just like my brother David likes to make believe. I liked that part because of this sentence especially: “It was like his feet had wings.” Owen learns a lesson in this book: always keep your eye “on the ball”! That makes me laugh. The illustrations in this book look like watercolors to me. I love this book because it encourages kids to use their imaginations. I think this is a good book for younger kids. The reason why I think that is there are not many words on the page. Also, people of any age can play ball. I would like to meet a character like Owen in real life. Then, we could pretend, and we would make believe!
