Olga da Polga

We rated this book:

Olga da Polga is a guinea pig, who loves to go on adventures and to tell stories, even if some are hard to believe. Olga da Polga lives in a pet store with the other guinea pigs, until one day, she is taken home by a little girl. When Olga da Polga hears that she will get a new name, she gets creative, and writes her Olga da Polga in the sawdust. She is such a smart guinea pig. Her new home is a hutch in the yard. While in her new home, she meets many new friends. She tells the cat a story about how guinea pigs lost their tails, goes on an adventure with a hedgehog, and even enters a pet contest. Read Olga da Polga to hear about all of Olga’s stories and adventures.

I first wanted to read Olga da Polga because it was written by Michael Bond, who also made Paddington Bear. I loved Olga da Polga and all of her stories. My favorite was how guinea pigs lost their tails. I used to have a guinea pig, and I pictured her while reading this book. Olga da Polga is a long book, broken into chapters, but with lots of illustrations. The illustrations are beautiful, and help to tell the story.
