Ogres Awake!

This book is about a knight and his horse, who run to warn the king about to attack the kingdom and that there are ogres sleeping in the meadow. The king already knows about it, so he already has a plan. The knight thinks they’re going to fight the ogres, but the king takes him to the garden and introduces him to some garden gnomes, uses his horse to carry vegetables, and has him peel lots of potatoes and carrots. They start to make a stew with all the vegetables, and it is finished just as the ogres wake up. I’m sorry I can’t tell you more, because that would ruin the story.

I like this book because it’s written in comic style. I like the speech bubbles because it’s not like the author telling you what the characters say, but they are saying things themselves. I also like comic style because there are different pictures on one page, so you get more. The illustrations aren’t super-detailed, but they still explain what’s happening. Inside the front and back covers, the author shows you how to draw the characters. He shows the steps to draw a basic one and then he also shows different moods or actions, too. I hope I’ve given you enough information to make you want to read this book!
