Octopus’s Garden
The first thing you notice about this book is that it is super colorful and very vibrant. Most pages are in blue and green tones, but the octopus is a super bright orange color that makes it pop off the page. The detail on each page is really nice. I am not sure how the kids don’t seem to have any problems swimming underwater and not being able to breath since they all have their mouths open, but are smiling, swimming around, and having so much fun together exploring the ocean floor with the octopus. My favorite is probably where the little girl is helping the octopus put on bracelets from the treasure chest, but the octopus has so many arms, it might take a while! If you read the story without listening to the CD that comes with it, you might think the story doesn’t make sense. There is music sang by a famous Beatle, Ringo Star, who also wrote the story. This added CD makes the book super fun for kids to listen and read along too. I know I would definitely give this book away as a present. I loved it!
