Not Yet a Yeti is a stunning picture book where it helps children to embrace who they really are. Everyone in George’s family is a Yeti, except George but yet he feels he is different. His family tries to encourage George to be meaner, scarier, louder, but George doesn’t want to be mean or scare people. George’s mom asks if he wants to be a Yeti and is very kind and supportive when George realizes he does not want to be a Yeti. Once George decides what he wants to be his family was surprised but encourages him that he can still be part of the family by helping the hikers they scare. This book has bright illustrations that show you don’t have to be like your family for your family to love, accept and support who you are on the inside. This book shows how with support you can be encouraged to show who you are on the outside, even if it means it is nothing like those who love you. This is a wonderful book to show how family and friends should support, encourage, and love one another no matter the circumstances.
