Not Friends

Bird and giraffe are not friends. They actually can’t stand each other. They annoy each other all day. For example, the bird poops on the giraffe (which made me laugh really hard) or the giraffe has bad breath that intoxicates the bird. The bird makes funny faces, and the giraffe invades his personal space. The tongue of the giraffe annoys the bird, but so does his slurping of worms. Sometimes they get in actual fights: the giraffe’s ear swats the bird, who pecks the giraffe. Until one day they decide that they are no longer friends and go separate ways. Then a storm happens, and they are both lonely and scared, wishing their friend was there. When the storm has passed, the bird comes back. They are so happy to see each other again. They will still fight once in a while, and they’ll say that they are not friends, but we know that they actually are. This story reminds me of my friend Jax. When I changed school, Jax said he would never be my friend. But slowly we started playing together, and now we are almost best friends, although we do fight at times.
