Nick the Sidekick
Is Nick really a Sidekick? Well, if you ask him, a better title would be Super-Hero Assistant. You may also wonder how he got such an exciting job, and the answer to that is his super big ear. Nick’s ear allows him to hear what is going on all around the city–he can hear if a bank robbery is going on or if someone is planning something evil. The super-hero who Nick assists is Super Fantastic Guy, the only superpower that Super Fantastic Guy has is the ability to fly, so he needs help from Nick to find out where he is needed.
Of course, Super Fantastic Guy always takes the credit for defeating the bad guys, and Nick doesn’t get any credit. At first this really bothers Nick, but he keeps trying his best and eventually is recognized for all that he does. This was a great read with a good moral of always trying your best, even if people aren’t recognizing your good work. Whether your a regular kid or a “super-hero assistant,” it is important to never give up and always do your best.
