New York Is My Playground

This book is all about New York and how much children who live there enjoy living there. There aren’t any real major characters in this book, but there are a lot of different kids. These kids talk about New York and things they like there. They say that New York is their “playground,” because it’s really a pretend playground, even though it’s a great place for kids to live. There wasn’t really a story or a plot in this book, but it was neat to see a lot of different things you could do in the big city!

One quote from this book that I really liked was, “New York also has quiet places and places where I can explore.” A cool picture with this quote was of a man who was reading.; it turns out the man is Hans Christian Andersen!

In this book, I really liked how kids were helping each other get from place to place in the city of New York. Another thing that I really liked were the pictures taken in parks. You might not think that there’s a lot of nature in New York, but there is!
