Never a Hero (Only a Monster, 2)
Joan has reset the timeline and saved her family. But her choice came at the cost of her love, Nick, and her friend, Aaron. Stuck with memories of what happened before she reset the timeline, only Joan remembers that the real enemy exists. Too bad Aaron is trying to kill her instead. When Joan finds herself a fugitive with only Nick and his missing memories as company, she is forced to travel deep into the monster world. As dark secrets and the forgotten timeline threaten to unravel everything Joan holds dear, she must find a way to face the threat that stands between her and everything she loves or risk losing it forever.
This was an interesting book! I really liked the first book, which had a unique storyline, great characters, and a plot that turned tropes on its head. The sequel stayed true to these qualities, although it moved a little slower than the first book. I was sad that Aaron was not featured as much, although I think that Joan and Nick experienced good character development. The ending had an amazing cliffhanger which left me wanting more! Anyone who enjoys unique fantasy will love this.
