Who doesn’t like pirates? They are some of the coolest adventurers to ever live, and since they had pirates all over the world, they all had their own different ways of being pirates. I actually learned a lot of new things about pirates and I thought I knew a lot already. Barbary corsairs from Algiers, wherever that is located, used warships that had giant triangle sails that helped them sail longer and they didn’t have to take so many sailors. There is also a section all about female pirates. Did you know that some women joined the navy pretending to be men? At one time, there were two women on the same ship who were tougher than the men pirates were. There were also Chinese pirates and were considered to be the most powerful fleet in history.

The drawings in this book look so real and some are real photos. You can learn a lot from this book and not even realize it. There is even a glossary. I loved this book and it easily deserves five stars!
