My Life in Smiley (Book 1 in Smiley series): It’s All Good

Max is a middle-school student in France. He watched a documentary about planets that might be able to be lived on in the future. Max decides that he should start to keep a journal (not a diary) about his life so that people in the future on other planets will be able to see what middle-school life was like in the past. Max is sure that his journal will be an important part of history someday.

Max keeps track of all of the different things he does in his life, like which friends he likes, his favorite video games, and his pen pal from England. It is a funny story because Max tells about all of the different things he does and the things he doesn’t like. It seems like Max is just a regular middle-school student with normal problems, but along with his stories it really makes you laugh. Throughout the journal Max not only uses pictures he drew of the different people, but he also has emojis to show how he is feeling about what is going on.
